How to make cherry jam with seeds for the winter

First of all, I would like to recall the general rules for making sweet cherry jam, which it is advisable to follow in all recipes.

The fruits must be ripe.

Before you start cooking, the cherries should be boiled in boiling water for 2 minutes, and then cooled in cold water.

I do the same with cherries, and especially with currants. So the berries will not wrinkle during further processing and will be evenly placed in the jar, they will not settle to the bottom.

In principle, these recipes are also suitable for cherry jam, but most of all I like to fry cherries in a pan.

For 1 kg of cherry fruit, usually 1-1.2 kg of sugar is taken.

It is better to cook large berries without seeds, but small ones with them, because there is little pulp in such ones, if you remove the seeds, only one skin will remain.

It will take a lot of skill to cook jam with seeds, because whole fruits are slowly soaked in sugar, and quick cooking is not good here, the berries will shrivel and the jam will be of unsatisfactory quality. Therefore, proceed as follows.

Making jam with seeds

The cherries, sorted out and peeled from petioles and leaves, are washed and pricked in several places with a pin.

Approximately 800 grams of sugar (per kilogram of berries) is poured into a glass of water and brought to a boil, stirring.

When the sugar in the syrup dissolves, remove from the heat and place the cherries in it. Withstand 3-4 hours.

Next, you need to boil the jam for 5-7 minutes from the moment it boils.
